Huge Pants, Little Tops

Big Girl Pants

Karla Deras of Karla's Closet keeps it effortlessly sexy as she always does with a light weight fabric and tiny bralette.

Similar silhouette from solestruck.com, only the pants are heavier, baggier and boxier, which blances out the bare midriff. The pants are rolled up and weighted down by a fat platform to keep the proportions flattering. Love the underwear showing, too.

Leave it to Leandra Medine of themanrepeller.com to keep the look classic yet surprising during Paris fashion week. She has these bulky trousers rolled up with a strappy nude heel which adds a feminine touch, like the stomach showing in the other pictures, but she wears a boxy cropped top instead. She has a way of rocking over-sized and masculine-looking clothes in a way that looks effortless, but supremely feminine.

I love how this pair is almost a classic denim flare, but is made more fashionable in the light wash and enormous flare. The long sleeve lace shirt with the bra showing through is the girly-girl's solution to the big pants outfit. Photo by Phil Oh from streetpeeper.com at Milan fashion week.

This image is my absolute favorite, taken from streetpeeper.com by Phil Oh of a woman named Daiane Conterato. The shade, weight, distressing and fit of these pants are all absolutely perfect. It is so easy and chic with the trouser crotch and simply belt, that she just paired it with a simple cotton top and looks so put together, not sloppy. I would die for these pants, such a perfect pair for playing around with proportions.

One must be reminded of Aaliyah rocking this look, appropriating menswear with little tops and a hot set of abs, before it was thing...She is the O.G. of the boyfriend jean!!

Street Style Round-Up

I don't think I would be brave enough to wear this during the day, but for night, this is a sexy-cool look.
The boxy shapes of this outfit are kept feminine on account of the sexy heel and lightweight/pastel fabric of the pant.

omg this outfit is perfect. the slouchyness of the pants paired with the structured blazer make it a an androgynous wet-dream. The chunky black boots and the vintage t-shirt are the perfect balance of weight with the light pink silk pants.

An old fav. I am really into minimalist looks now.

The Only Fashionable Thing About Nasty Gal is Sophia Amoruso

Sophia Amoruso, the founder of Nasty Gal, is celebrated for her savvy business techniques as she rose from selling clothes on Ebay to running one of the fastest growing online retailers. What seemed exciting at first, affordable clothes for the "Unapologetically sexy girl", became a the baby of forever21 and charlotte russe, trashy and trendy clothes that you will be embarrassed to have worn within the next 6 months. Don't invest in their nasty clothes, but do follow Sophia Amoruso's career and personal style.

Look at her edgy bangs and eyebrows! she is daring.

She parties and looks really good doing it.

That haircut!

Sexy as hell with Pharrell.

Her cool, vintage street-style.

THAT hair.

A powerful and sexy woman; fascinating and exciting in a world where women are labeled as bitches for succeeding and wanting more. Fashion remains one of the only industries where women can harness their creative and monetary powers without being resented, and instead be celebrated. We love you Sophia!!!!!!!
Follow her on instagram for doses of her cool eye brows and hair, plus she has a sense of humor, cute dog,  and looks like an awesome boss.

Did you need a dose of Eleonora Carisi?

...Me too

Blogger behind joujouvilleroy.com, brand consultant, street-style-blog regular, model, store owner, designer, and contributor of one Italy's biggest fashion sites grazia.it-Eleonora Carisi is a jack of all fashion trades and has the style to prove it.

Some of my favorite and most approachable of her street style looks...

loving the unexpected color blocking of this outfit.

pastels and lace get a kick with neon heels

the masculine jacket and bunny graphic keep the ladylike pencil skirt and sandals young. also the balancing of bold blue with all nude on the bottom keeps the outfit flattering.

The hat takes this rather trendy outfit to new style heights.

She always has the perfect balance of sexy and cool without looking like she is trying too hard. I think she does this by expertly mixing textures and balancing her looks by pairing structured pieces with less structured ones. I love her frequent nods to old hollywood with her hairstyle, costume jeweler, vintage hats and her new plays on classic silhouettes of dresses and skirts, all without being over the top retro. I also love that she fearless;y embrace of color and ulta-feminine looks. Plus, she is fucking sexy..just look at her tats...

and her tits..

I want her to be my best friend and mom at the same time. I hope to develop my style in an equally effective way like Eleonora's; to be definitive without defining. In every picture, she is clearly wearing the clothes and not the other way around.

Street Style Round Up

White tights with platform sandals and a big coat. Nothing that is supposed to go together, working together.  image via streetpeeper.com

Not so easy to pull off in reality but I love the cool, retro vibe and mixed details of the fringe, the eyelet lace vest and satin bra top. image via streetpeeper.com

All of my favorite trends together: quilted jacket, turtleneck and mirror print. All in wonderfully obnoxious colors. image via facehunter.com

Aside from this bitch being a model and all of her clothes designer, the silhouette is easy-your favorite big, winter waist-coat with joggers and your go-to booties. image via leeoliveira.com

J.W. Anderson for Topshop

Thank god for designer collaborations with retailers

J.W. Anderson's collection for Topshop really hits the spot. He nailed what he called "playing with ugliness" with his preppy-meets-goth meets the girl-from-The Ring-goes-to-private-school collection.  He plays with unconventional fabrics for staple pieces, like patent leather trenches and denim pleated-skirts, and distorts classic shapes into unflattering, thrift-store resembling, borrowed from littler brother pieces that are at once completely new and out of date at the same time. Some images from the feature:

Though not exactly affordable for the real person, but affordable for the person who can afford to want to appear too poor to purchase these things, the pieces range from $40-$440 depending on fabric. For the real person, like me, here are the pieces I think will boost your wardrobe most with the least burden on your checking account so the androgynous school girl-boy inside you can show its true, ugly, dark colors.

1.2.
3. 4.

1. Can't go wrong with a graphic mustang sweater, cars never go out of style $130.00
2. So much man-repelling outfit potential in the argyle knit skirt $130.00
3. I'm obsessed with girly gothic denim dress $130.00
4. Unique and easy to wear silk-taffeta shorts $130.00
